I don't mind these tropes anymore. The MC wasn't exactly painted in a dominant light exactly. From the beginning of the manhua, the mangaka gave the impression she didn't control her own decisions. From the beginning she was robbed and her parents blackmailed her. We were kinda given subtle hints that other people controlled her life. Our MC "doing stuff against her own will" as you say... now...let's see...I'm gonna have to disagree. I think she's just the type to adapt in bad circumstances; passive and submissive in all but this is a survival method. That's just how women in the east had it for thousands of years. We all like to see women in these Chinese isekais changing their circumstances but most women don't have secret kung-fu skills to whip out on a moment's notice.

I have to say, the relationships in this manhua definitely aren't abusive so I'm okay with the doormat MC. I guess my standards have lowered after reading a lot of crappy manhuas recently.

My biggest problem here is how we barely got any information about the main love interest before having a new one being thrust upon us. I really loved this manhua for the pacing; SO MUCH BETTER than many other Chinese webcomics. Now I'm questioning my original analysis.

@RubyG8396 Well ig my standards have lowered too, but I thought of her being kidnapped as yes- out of her control. Becoming a fiance imo is against her will, but if the contract says that- it's uncontrollable.

I'm not bothered on the part of the character (if that makes sense?) but as a reader, just because it's used alot.
Her responses show that even if she's bothered by it, she's obviously not as bothered as me because they make it comedic...
Even though it's adaptability it just feels so abrupt (like damn if only they inserted a thought bubble or two or something) {not that that has to happen}
Yeah I too would say she's a doormat, but yeah that's a plus, she's not being abused here.

It is DEFINITELY abrupt. My question is who is gonna save her? Blonde/director/CEO/rich guy whose name I don't remember doesn't actually like her enough to rescue her. If he does, it is gonna feel very forced. Or maybe this is a reverse harem in disguise and our MC doesn't need rescuing because of some Stockholm-esque romantic circumstances.

@RubyG8396 JDJEJW A REVERSE HAREM IN DISGUISE😂

Sorry, I really had to laugh at that one because it really happens like that at times (Watch me go back to look at the tags).

Probably him, his needy side might jump right back out and get people to find her
Or maybe the doctor (Not the one that supposedly likes the FL, the other one) ? He seems to have his head on somewhat right..

I'd love to say her parents but they're useless😩
