I don't understand what the “gasp” is supposed to reflect.

Duck tape is a water-resistant tape. It is sometimes called “duct tape” by people who think that “duck” is in error, but duck tape isn't much good on ducts.

The word “millennial” is spelled with “nn”.

For what it's worth, using “different than” and “different to” are acceptable in British English, but not in standard American English.

@Oeconomist Duct Tape is equally correct, the cloth backed tape is marketed as both, though the "duck tape" name is these days mainly used by the Duck Brand for their line of utility tapes, which also includes electrical tape, packing tapes, etc. The product was originally called duck tape because the backing was made from duck cloth, but the common name changed in the mid-50s to duct tape after it became commercially available post-war and its most common use became patching up ductwork.

Thank you so much Citrus Project | Mavi Manga for scanlating this series 😭❤️ It's an absolutely adorable story on its own, but then it warms my heart even more when I remember that its based on true events. Wish this series would get the recognition it deserves, but at the very least, I'm glad that I'm one of the fortunate few who have been able to read this thanks to you guys!!

The name “duct tape” is acceptable, but not equally correct, exactly because the stuff is not very good for taping ducts, it was never intended to be so, and consequently that has not become its most common use. And, while “Duck Tape” is a brand, “duck tape” is a generic term.

(It's not even legal to use that stuff on ducts in California.)

@Oeconomist @TheGTF Thank you for the input. Wow, I learned so much about tapes. Okay, tbh the raws actually says sellotapes, but I changed it to duct tapes, because well, I thought they are the same thing. Obviously, I was wrong and it was foolish of me for doing that. Thank you for the correction.

Duck tape has a jocular reputation of being able to repair anything, so it's actually funnier than polypropylene tape in this context, though polypropylene tape is more versatile than many people realize). But, yeah, they're not the same thing.
