Japanese law considers even a drop of alcohol to be a disqualifier for operating a vehicle, including scooters and bicycles.

Well to real life oddities of Japanese media! Here the law is nearly always enforced no matter how insane it sounds because that’s just the way things are in Japanese media, yes it doesn’t make a whole lot of narrative sense and you bet it’s going to be downright ignored in real life but always observed anime and manga. Just like how for all the delinquent stories you read on mangadex they will always go out of their way to explain how as minors they can’t drink alcohol. Like do you honestly think Japan has just two swear words? (baka (you fool) and anoyonīku/taoreru (go die)). They have just as many as we do, my favourite being マンコ (manko) which is the word to call someone a cunt!
