If Miyako missed one of those once-a-year classes, I can she why she became upset, especially if that's the only class left for her to graduate.

Hm, if that was the Chairwoman who contacted Nakano, maybe she could pull some strings to allow Miyako to earn that credit (connections...connections...connections). Other than that, maybe there's some sort of expedite program to allow Miyako to get her teaching license faster.

Is college in Japan completely different from elsewhere ? It's always possible to get other/more credits, either during summer vacation or simply by retaking the course. Overall it shouldn't affect her possibility of being a teacher that much.
Though I wonder why her teacher never tried to get in contact with her about this one missing credit she needed... My teachers in college certainly went and did as much for people who failed an exam, giving them another chance.

I don't think it's that she's worrying about, she's more worried about the time and money. She's definitely rushing into things too much like what her sister and friend told her.

She certainly knew who Nakano was right from the start. I wonder if the next page was a list of targets: "Girl in library, huge boobs. Will need persuasion but high potential."

It depends on the university, my university is a massive 1000 students per course "production line factory" so most students would never get to talk to their lecturers and you would only find out that you missed a subject if the online system says error when you are picking subjects.

Yeah depending on where you go to university the culture is often you want to get into the working world as fast as possible, especially if you're doing a 5 year STEM degree and you're watching your 3 year commerce degree friends all working full time and making money.
