Tag Definition Clarification: Sexual Violence

I had a question about the specific tag "Sexual Violence" and whether that is something which is supposed to be tagged for a series which include attempted sexual violence or if it's only if the act was carried through completely?

This particular theme makes me highly upset and uncomfortable, however there are so many series which feature it in an attempt (the person is usually rescued before it can be completed), but even the attempts make me upset, so I try to avoid manga which has it either way.

I have the filter set to exclude manga with those themes, however I notice that manga which I know to have several attempt-and-rescue situations (in varying degrees of graphicness) throughout the series are still popping up in my search results, so I was just wondering what exactly is defined as "sexual violence" in a tag here and what should be filtered out of my search results.

From my understanding, the tag is relevant when actual acts of sexual violence are explicitly shown (so yeah, carried out). Harassment or threats with sexual undertones wouldn't constitute a Sexual Violence tag.

Oh, that's unfortunate. One series in particular I had read had three instances where the girl's clothes were all torn up/off and they were "just about to do it" but she got saved every time before it could technically happen, so I was surprised it didn't warrant the tag. It was quite graphic.

Thank you though, that's a big help.

Sure thing. Btw, if you every do read a title that's definitely missing a tag in its description, just hit the Report button to let the Contributor Jannies know.

And three times sounds pretty excessive in a story imo. Without context it makes me think of a run-of-the-mill self-insert-type manga where the MC has a savior complex. What's the manga title?

There was a shoujo manga where this consistently happened but it somehow wasn't considered a big deal and was always almost immediately forgotten afterwards. I don't recall the name, but it raised a lot of questions

@bigtiddyoneesan It's called Silver, it's a run of the mill soap opera, and an older manga. All three situations are fairly spread out, however once was when she was fourteen. I wound up barely glancing at the pages, and they were almost immediately ignored as "never happened" until one of the same guys tried to do it to her again later on. There was a lot of questionable content in that series, but it is such a common theme in romance themed manga. Other people may not find it as graphic, but it's been an uncomfortable topic for me for a long time and I'm always on the hunt for romance series which don't include this for seemingly no reason (It almost happens, heroine gets saved, and then never mentioned again).

@MrIncognito That's suspicious as heck, honestly. I can handle the topic if it's handled properly and isn't immediately ignored when the hero comes to save the heroine. Sesame Salt and Pudding has this scenario, however it isn't a throw away situation just for her to seem helpless and being rescued by her love interest. It has effects on the heroine's trust issues and such later on in the series. This I can accept (although I'd prefer to avoid it), but at least it isn't a baseless "shocker" situation.
