Weiss magic while busted, is not as effective when facing against a single opponent who can but up resistances.

Also that spell has a setback. Weiss needs to be constantly casting and attacking since if he absorbs too much, he will explode.

Later on he creates fixes foe that but for now he is stuck with that handicap.

Where that magic is incredibly OP is when Weiss is fighting multiple opponents.

The cool thing about this is how Weiss interactions when Allen and Cynthia change each other.

One of Weiss problems is that he does not fully embrace. the world he is living in and is focused on what he sees as part of the game

While Allen and Cynthia are stupidly naieve and in the game it was seen that it got them in trouble a lot of times and sometimes causing a lot of harm. Allen in particular is so hyper focused on inequality that he ironically seems selfish and closeminded.

Through Weiss they both learn to be pragmatic and think of what they need to do to accomplish their goals while thinking of the consequences of their actions while Weiss is taken in by their excessive optimism and starts to tackle the social issues of world he is in right now.

Allen and Weiss are the perfect foils for each other.

I fucking LOVE this series man. It’s hilarious and the characters are so good. Milk-sensei especially. Like, we haven’t even explored her depth yet but she’s just such a good grounder to the MC at so many points. And they’re almost always for comedic effect, but not so cheesily done it’s tiring.

That setbacks make things fair, and situational matchup is also good. I really don't like most isekai stories that every single skill that they have is straight out full overpowered benefits with minimum or no demerits. Playing out the demerits strategically is the fun of fantasy battle to me (if they intended to make this a rather large portion of the story), and imo braindead OP MC is fine if the author able to craft a good story with depth for that character, so we know the focus is not simply flexing OPness on every chance they get.

Well fuck, 8 debuffs on enemies, and 8 buffs for himself and his allies. And to top it off, most likely it won't stop until he cancels the magic himself, or is knocked out, as he is constantly draining magic.

If we talk about RPG, he would be a BiS unit in any game, solely because of this

Even later it was shown Lilith actually had countermeasures against in this chapter it was just that she was caught offguard against it since this was the first time Weiss used it.

I love how the manga captures the essence of the story a bit more than the Light Novel aet does.

Heck even did better than the oneshots.

The LN arts looks kinda generic style. While this mangaka's style draw the characters with sharper facial features, which goes really well with the subversion humors of the story.
