More like, she wants him to be "clear" in his mind if he actually did it or not, whatever the motive is.

The situation was really grim, because she loved her father and Taika.
The problem was with Taika's motive. Was it an accident? Was it Taika being forgetful? And IF Taika was forgetting he killed her dad, it would actually make Taika more dangerous and it would open a possibility that he might've hurt her in the same way.

Or, was it someone else doing it AND Taika forgot about it for some reason? There's still that mystery.
