Uh this chapter really took an odd turn & I was thinking it was just a girl in a bear suit being that committed to the role. Like the suspension of disbelief just cranked up out of no where. Thanks for the translations.
This feels a little like being held hostage, and the next step is being forced to watch hamsters fight to the death. You want to leave, but it's so out there that you want to see what the author tries next.
What the hell is this? What happened? I would have never predicted this is the direction this decided to go in.
I think we all reasonably assumed post ch.1 that "ok so I imagine this is gonna be like him trying to win over each of this girl's six distinct personalities. And maybe each personality has their own little arc. Alright I'm down."
Instead we get human experimentation (admittedly I thought this was a kinda cool depending on the execution of it). And now talking bears?! Someone already mentioned but my suspension of disbelief is shot. This is not good. The author already had something neat to work with and expand upon, but then decided to make all these odd additions that takes us further away from what I assumed was the initial premise.
Thanks for the translation (I might see where this goes if only because Narita is sexy af. But you're right TL: this is indeed very weird).
I think the biggest problem is the author just doesn't have the page count to make the story work in this way. This one was 11 pages. Chapters 2, 3, and 4 were all 8 pages (and that's really being generous to chapter 2 that had like, only 6 pages worth of content). It did, however, give us this bit of foreshadowing:
