Page 9. I could be mistaken, but i believe in Japan, a girl is legally able to get married at age 16 with parental consent. That's why she is repeating that over and over. One of those things that's understood by the native culture when its just being hinted at.

So in the December chapters it's mentioned it had been 10 months already. So so more than 12 months later and she's still 16.
I give up, there is no intention of having any of the characters move forward. It's all just bait and regression to the same situation.

@MesaOracle Late response but that would be correct. Especially when you consider the whole situation is she is in a extended arranged marriage interview with him with one the main thing holding things back is her age/being a hs student it is hitting home that that excuse not meaning so much anymore.
