Glory to Zirconia-sama! Long live Zirconia-sama!

Damn, I kinda didn't realize that either
Oh, it's even more fun than that, The MC is 25 and Lieze was stated to be only 14. Of course, through most of history that was about the age to marry, join the military and otheriwse be considered an adult, but the fact that Kazura never even acknowledged the situation from his perspective is questionable 🐻

So stupid to leave Japanese tech behind…
It shouldn't really matter. While it's proof that an otherworlder is involved, what do they do with it? They must have suspected already, given the identical names for the inventions across the border. At this point it's useless even as an excuse to invade, since they've already done it anyway.

Thank you so much for all the translations!!! It’s all really high quality too!

I actually dropped this a while back because I really disagreed with how spineless the MC was being for a lot of chapters. It’s nice to get back into it especially seeing some of the romance progress even a little. But damn, he also has the maid now. Hopefully him and Valletta will move forward quicker. I’m kind of sad they were interrupted in the tent.

Also, it’s good to have Zirconia back. I hope things will go smoothly.

Man if that alarm thing that they threw uses electricity and the tiny girl “engineer” figures out how to reverse engineer it, it’ll be a massive technological revolution in not just weaponry.

That would be a very, VERY nonsensical development. If the girl is an otherworlder like MC, it's useless to her. If she isn't, then she might as well be reverse engineering the monolith from A Space Odyssey. She's missing entire paradigms of physics to even begin to grasp anything useful about this. To her it would just work somehow, until it didn't when she poked around too much and broke it. That is, if it hasn't already run out of juice.

Imo, I live by the "when in Rome do as the Romans do." You cannot push your morals on others but you can have a higher standard for yourself. My other qualm is that a 16 year old in that world is more mature than a majority 20 year olds in our world. The age of the body is one factor, but I do think mental maturity is more important because they think of the group before themselves, while kids think about themselves before the group in majority of cases.

That proverb refers to customs which aren't really the issue here. Also, "not pushing morals" can easily be abused to become a catch all excuse to do nothing, even though you could. In fact, it has been in this story. Remember early on when they just began reconstruction? The MC learned about how the lord planned to make use of slave labour for the fields. Even said lord realized how that might upset him and offered to find an alternative. The MC gave him to go ahead with the original plan, due to this very mindset. At that point he was in a position to even abolish slavery on that territory at least, or at least insist on establishing more humanitarian standards for it. Nope, not a peep.

What I'm getting at is that "doing as the Romans" is not the point here - historical events must be considered against historical context. IRL the low age of adulthood was needed due to the harshness of life, pretty much constant warfare and the way the upper society worked. One can probably say that the same applies here, so of course he won't be going around telling them to change that. That does not mean that he himself shouldn't at least point the issue out: "where I come from, you're young enough to still be considered a child".

Gotta be honest, dude - that came out creepy AF :dogkek: I think a cryptobro once said somethin similar when asked what the age of consent's going to be in his future crypto-founded, government-free micro state :wtf:

Page 7+8: Welp, that's a flag.

Page 32: Kazura's been making a lot of promises lately...Valetta, Eira, Narson, Valetta again, all in the past few chapters. I, uh, wonder if he's going to be making any to Zirconia soon.
