@Xreator
Most of their translated light novels are butchered westernized shi*.
So the one area where they actually keep the Japanese influence instead of replacing them completely with dated 60's era Batman sound effects like (((ZZONK!)))...You seem to be contradicting yourself there.
Although I share much of your sentiments and have a lot of gripes with Yen Press as well, this is one where I actually like it better this way keeping both in. It's a matter of personal preference. You have yours, I have mine. So until I get tired of it, or don't want to be forced to "localize" something where it has no equivalent translation in English (which has happened multiple times before); I'll keep doing it my way. Plus, this is also an attempt to add to the archive of Japanese SFX at http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx/ which is a godsend for us translators (even if it's incomplete). I think it's better to contribute to the understanding and culture to the community, over having all of it be lost in translation.
And funny enough, I see only a handful of people, rarely ever complain about the countless other group's releases, who completely ignore the SFX outright, or even the little side handwriting on the edges of the bubbles...something that's actually worth getting peeved about.
@bocchi
What do you mean by "articles"? If you mean the SFX that's separated by a wide gap in between them, then that's been accounted for with "~" representing the gap. Other than that, I can't see anywhere else that you may be referring to.
@aFFi
Didn't know that feature was up and running now. I may or may not be making use of it in the future. I personally don't mind mild trolling here and there so long as it's witty and funny (mangadex may disagree), but there are rare occasions where people get downright nasty with personal attacks, or simply being obnoxious. I've got thick skin, but even thick skin isn't immune to poison.
@kronix
I don't mean to be the hall monitor here, but...that's some thin ice you're treading on.
