I don't know if that's the case, but Japan has this weird, even unhealthy obsession with low weight and being ultra-thin.

I know of some Japanese women who were rejected a few times because the dudes they tried dating rejected them for not being in the "40-45 kg" range, as fucking insane as that sounds.

In the west, women reject men cuz 9f height. In Japan, men reject women cuz of weight. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
