One shame things that Neli could have done before that happen is...
To ask grandfather and father in law to give up to him the thing that the demon lord wanted, and throw that thing somewhere more secure or even somewhere where none can catch it...

@rberger that is right fellow reader, unpredictable. nie li doesn't know everything, wonder if any reader know about why demon lord want that stone he's after and if nie li have that knowledge(bcoz iirc nie li is in the dark about this so that is why they all got caught unprepared now). also things are slowly diverging even more from his memories, not being able to find temporal demon spirit book in the desert and nie li going into a coma also included.. which factored in being caught unprepared by demon lord's visit to snatch the stone here
