@imortality666 seems to be a Japan thing. The company I work for is no saint and they are greedy as fuck, but they wouldn't even do that. If you wanted to work 14 days in a row, they would let you, but you have to ask. I am assigned 44 hour work weeks (over 5 days) with the expectation that i will volunteer at least 2 Saturdays a month for an additional 4 hour shift. But at least on those Saturdays, the boss buys pizza for people so it isn't that bad. The most I have heard people working at my place was 89 hours a week. The most I did was, counting trade school and full time work, 83 a week for 2 years. But the boss only had me work 40 hours a week. The rest was trade school. I was a fucking zombie lol. I only kept going because I was to exhausted to stop. I could have used a lady to pamper me in that time lol. But it paid off in the end.

@SnickrotMy situation is better. I am a public worker. I work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 30 days of vacation, I can choose the period of vacation and if I will divide the 30 days in 1, 2 or 3 periods. I always choose a period starting Tuesday after a holiday on Monday or ending on a Thursday before a holiday on Friday. After 5 p.m. I can literally see the department on fire and I don't need to do anything.
