"Rights" aren't needed in love? But shouldn't there be?? Am I wrong? Just because you're in love with a person, does it give you automatic pass? Am I interrupting it wrong? Rights exist for respect and boundaries. I think your rights in your love should be given by talking it out with each other, and deciding it together.... Google, heelp.

I don't think you need a right to pursue someone. But if, say, that person already has someone, you shouldn't go for them. Which doesn't mean you can't. It's just a kinda scummy thing to do. But if a person is not in a relationship, you don't need anyone's permission to pursue. (other than the person in question, I guess?)

@Askorti I agree with you, nobody has the right to stop you from pursuing someone. It's your choice to make and do. (Unless you're really harassing the person then, by all means, please listen). But I was really confused at how he encourages her to go and interrupt the two as he says there's no need for rights in love from the get-go.

Does pursuing involve interrupting two people? Can't you just wait for your chance to approach at another time, or is that no good and you really have no choice? (Excuse this clueless level zero in romance.)

Well, when two people pursue the same target, it inevitably becomes something of a competition. The idea here is, that in love there is not "fair play" and taking turns. Allowing your "rival" to spend time with the target of your affections uninterrupted is directly disadvantageous to you. So going and butting in might be in your best interest, if you play it right.
At least that's how it works in fiction. Hell if I know if it actually translates into the real world very well. Some of it might, some probably doesn't.
