Im only a few pages in and i already know with absolute certainty that this isn't going to go well. He's such a brainless simp that he unconditionally saved the alchemist loli and immediately surrendered the atelier to her. Effectively making the whole dragon quest moot because the entire reason he took it was to pay the back taxes on that place. So i have no faith that this marriage farce is the set up to a happily ever after. Also he, the man who did all the work, got a bag full of coin and got shown the door. The useless hostage got her own noble title and land. Dude. Seriously. Screw humanity of this world and become the demon king.
