Is soon for a flashback but they have to make us see the detective girl in some form or is just the MC being depressed about her.
Anyway they didn't even try to hide that prepotent girl got the heart, as if it wasn't already clear they made the robobat guy confused her with the protagonist old chief, and that makes me think 1)he is dumb for not catching it fast, 2)is faking not knowing or possibly 3)is for the japanese wording not making as evident.
