Man, these government dumbfucks. All this hesitation instead of acting immediately, and all they got for it was more casualties and more time for the monster to get closer to even more people and property.

If they were realistic and focused on speed and firing ASAP instead of pointless "rescue" missions and "evacuation", they could've stopped the monster already while taking much fewer casualties. This is what happens when people get emotional an idealistic instead of being realistic and grounded the way they ought to be.

Every time they delayed, more people died, and then the monster was able to gain ground and do more damage. They should've just launched the JDAMs from the very beginning from a safe distance regardless of the small amount of casualties at the time.

This truly is "join the army" manga.
In any case, thanks for the translation and I'm enjoying it.

Please, if you can spare one last effort, stitch the spread pages. You can even do it online with a simple google of 'Image Stitch'

Seems reasonably realistic to me. You can’t expect people to be cold calculating machines. Every action, especially in politics, comes with consequences especially in the aftermath.

Even if the current decision was the best one they could make, just the fact alone that the monster got to the city is enough for any political opposition to use it against the current people in charge to leverage their side and use it to get into power. And they aren’t even addressing that issue deeply, keeping the focus on the emergency at hand.

In fact, the government reaction here is quite rational and pretty efficient if you compare it to reality. Looking at examples in the US, they can’t even properly imprison criminals and murderers despite all the hard evidence, just because people can use religion or color as a shield. Don’t even get me started on their recent responses to actual terrorism happening on their soil. Reality just sucks so much more.
