Really happy to see this moving along, but the stickler for rules in me wants to flag that technically you're violating the rules by posting partial chapters if they weren't published that way originally. Mods usually don't take action unless someone complains, though, and I sure ain't complaining , since even a partial chapter here feels like a complete one from any other series.

I'm a little surprised that they don't have a drone in the central shaft to give them eyes across the evacuated floors. Seems like the monster's whereabouts are crucial intel regardless of whether your goal is saving the civvies or exterminating the beast.

Don't you worry for one moment longer my friend, the online publisher Kurage Bunch splits the chapters into two parts, as well (sometimes three parts, depending on the chapter length.) Up until now, we've been combining them because we didn't want to risk leaving you guys on a cliffhanger that wasn't intended by the mangaka, but we figured if they're doing it, then it's probably fine.

Speaking of which, Kurage Bunch are great, I'll post the TFPDM page as proof, but they've got tons of other great series worth checking out, too!

Yeah, my guess would be it may be a little too tight of a space for most military drones (though even a dinky $40 one off of Amazon would suffice lol), or even something like an Explosive Ordinance disposal robot would be better than nothing. But we have to keep in mind that this is a very rushed and time-sensitive operation, so they may simply have lacked the time and preparation necessary to mobilize those kinds of resources. Or maybe I'm totally full of shit! That's the willing suspense of disbelief for ya, I suppose.

Thanks a lot for your comment and pointing out that rule, it would have sucked to get caught with our proverbial pants down like that. I really hope you'll enjoy the conclusion to chapter 24, and please feel free to join our Discord, that way if anything else comes up, you can get to me in real-time!

thx for translation guys... aggree with a shorter but more regular release time, keep up the good work as always 💪

Yes, I'm just about to enter grad school in a few semesters, so the work has been piling up like crazy (not to mention my commitments with helping out on our other series), but I'm really doing the best I can. I promise!

Our commitment at Undead Scans is to bring you guys the absolute highest quality releases we possibly can (hence why I've started TLing and TSing the SFX), and sometimes that means the releases don't come out as quickly as we'd like, and we sincerely apologize for that 🙏🏻

But as things are getting more streamlined, we fully expect for those delays to start shrinking a lot. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words, they really mean the world to us and warm the frozen cockles of necromancer heats!

I love the Nimrod uniform and gun.
Thanks for the translation! Shorter but more frequent chapters are good! Love your work and this manga!

Thank you so much, really! It means a lot to us that you guys have been so encouraging. Now I'm extra excited to get back to working on the conclusion of this chapter!

I couldn't agree more about how badass the Nimrod uniforms are (even if their name is considerately less cool in English lol), they have that futuristic military plague doctor look that just screams "don't f*ck with us", right? I hope the series gets popular enough to inspire some cosplay of them, eventually!

It's a bit unclear, because in the raws, the gun is identified as a Barrett M82 (.50Cal), but since these guys are American military servicemen, they should be using the Barrett M107, which is an M82 variant which Barrett developed specifically for use by the US Military. If you get a chance to check one out irl, I cannot recommend it enough, really. The design, the engineering, and the aesthetics of the M82, and especially the M107, are gorgeous. Sure, it's an instrument of death, but I hope we can all agree they're just goddamn cool, too! And they're fun as hell to fire (Undead Scans only endorses discharging firearms at targets on a gun range, following all proper safety procedures).

Sorry for ranting a bit, I couldn't help myself. We appreciate your comments and encouragement very much, you guys are really the reason why we're doing this after all. It sure ain't the pay 😅 (joking). We hope to see you under 24.2, which will be out soon!

It's a bit unclear, because in the raws, the gun is identified as a Barrett M80 (.50Cal), but since these guys are American military servicemen, they should be using the Barrett M107, which is an M80 variant which Barrett developed specifically for use by the US Military. I wish I had the opportunity to fire guns.

Thank you again for the hard work. Remember to drink water regularly.

Come hang out sometime, I'll take you to the range!

It's truly our pleasure, getting to read encouraging comments from fans like you is what keeps us going, and I'm not just saying that! Thank for the reminder, I have a nice big water bottle on my desk right now, but I do have a bad habit of over-relying on coffee and energy drinks. I'm only human 😅

It's our pleasure, truly. Undead Scans will be staying on TFPDM as long as we're around, and we're not going anywhere!

Heheh, I know right? They have to feeling the pressure if Nimrod thinks the best options are launching ATGMs or ordering an airstrike from Nagoya. Next they'll want to start shelling downtown Tokyo like it's Baghdad circa 2004!

yea that's basically USA solving problem outside the country. if this scenario happens in, say, New York or any of their own major city, I highly doubt they would be this trigger-happy

I didn't even consider that, but now that I'm thinking of it, you're completely right. No doubt if it was Japan helping with a kaiju in like, uptown Manhattan, the US would be the ones blanching at unloading heavy weaponry on it. Or maybe not, while individual service members are extremely good problem-solvers in my experience, the Army and Marines especially have the "when you're a hammer every problem looks like a nail" thing really badly.

Plus, both the US military and JSDF have tons of options between "individual squadrons carrying small arms" and "ordering an airstrike or hellfire missiles", too. I'm surprised nobody suggested sortieing tanks or other armored vehicles, issuing the soldiers more powerful anti-materiel rifles or smaller scale rocket launchers, etc etc. Even the exo-suit wearing soldiers could use weapons too heavy for typical soldiers to use individually, as well.

But like I said above, this operation had to be rushed to enact (brilliant move, America, releasing kaijus into a heavily populated urban center of one of your major defensive partners, something I can easily see them doing tbh) and is heavily constrained by needing to get the civvies out and away ASAP. So I'm very curious to see what strategies and tactics they'll be employing later on once they've got more breathing room and can switch to kaiju extermination mode...

"Are you saying that we do not respect the safety of our allies' citizens!?"

Lmao you ask that now? Your president didn't give a bloody damn when 3 monsters escaped and preyed on a bunch of Japanese civilians.

Worse, it's hinted that the monsters were intentionally released by the US. Which is very believable ngl; what better way of obtaining valuable real-world tactical experience without actually endangering their citizens' lives?

Also, Nimrod was on the scene and ready to help awfully fast, even with advance knowledge of the monsters being free...

The Nimrod guys are surprisingly likable including the scientist guy and the unit commander. They don't seem to give a shit about the brass' politics, they're just more concerned about the Japanese government seemingly trying to play 4D chess with the kaiju.
