@beam291 We're actually caught up, it's a brand-new monthly series. Chapter 2 will be out in Japan tomorrow or the day after. This mangaka can be extremely hard to redraw, so it will probably take a couple weeks to get it done in English.

Jesus this prime minister is a goddamned moron - you're being told a gigantic creature is attacking coast guards and civilians, is preying upon them even, and you still refuse to send in appropriate force to either kill it or drive it off?

The deaths of those people are solely on her head.

@Sasquatchias she is playing careful. She knows that in any wrong movement China will have a leverage against Japan and they can start a war. Then monster would watch the sh*tshow in between them.

Tell the U.S. the creature is full of oil or is carrying WMDs. Not even China can stop that lmao.

I think the most impressive part of this manga is the chapter sizes. In an age where everyone is busy chopping up their chapters down to 3-10 pages, we're getting 50+.

This manga is in one word: AWESOME. I wish more people acknowledge this masterpiece. By the way we should thanks to translation group "Death Toll Scans" for their professional work and informative translator notes. I think a regular group won't even bother to add these informations.

I think this is the kaijuu manga that we need. It's pretty intense judging from 2 chapters so far. And at least we don't get common people as the lead characters and how he makes a comeback as a hero who helping many people.

@4V29LN0n Still too early to say, but this is Jun'ya Inoue, not some third-rate rookie mangaka trying to score points with a nationalistic audience. If he goes nationalistic, it will become apparent later. Up to now, the only objectionable moment is
describing Chinese sailors as reckless in a naval engagement. The JP prime minister is described as indecisive and overcautious, and the military are currently taking a beating. But go and see for yourself.

Slight horror on this one, not the typical Japan numba wan military stuff(other than the MC seeming like a devout JSDF officer)and they took in consideration that they’re a pacifist nation so up till Chapter 3, there still hasn’t been any military intervention by Japan other than China even though there were quite a lot of casualties. Portraying Japan as overcautious is also another thing, unlike some other manga where they decide to blow their opponents up immediately, murica style.

I like it, it’s different than most military manga i read so this would be a little interesting.
