Feels somewhat melodramatic and forced, subjectively people aren't generally so antagonistic to each other, and thus either makes it feel forced or perhaps highlights the lack of context surrounding the whole narrative, which in turn should have avoided attempting in such a short number of pages, not to mention being somewhat cliché in the setting.
