Exactly. It wouldn't be honest to say there is no ulterior motive for Emma here, but at the same time, Emma is actually trying to help Suzu and we're even shown in this chapter that she's being considerate of her feelings in regards to not wanting to take advantage of her and just go guns blazing in trying to get close to her, which is what I'm really enjoying about Emma right now.

Yes, but the difference between the two and what made Emma the better girl is that she still took the risk of possibly ending her current relationship with Suzu to take her shot, even volunteering to be a replacement for someone else (while yes, she might have an ulterior motive and she also benefit from this situation, but do you really think she is happy to be hugged by Suzu while muttering "Yuki-nee", I don't think she do), also, didn't Nako only became friends with Suzu when Suzu start working part-time, they did mentioned that they only talked with each other after meeting at their workplace, for all we know, Suzu is prolly friends longer with Emma than with Nako lol.
