What the fuck is he trying to do? Like, seriously. Is his explanation actually directed to us readers? Eeeeerrrggghhh, if so, why not just have Professor Kitou internally monologuing about it instead. Reading any speech bubble coming from that fishfuck makes me nauseous.

I bet that fishfuck was pressuring Shingo because of pettiness or something (heck, I'm suspecting that the fishfuck is actually fluent in English). The kid is already really close to having a massive breakdown, kinda feels like to me that he doesn't really mean it whenever he wishes that Kunitachi's surgery would fail, meaning his dad's failed surgery would be the biggest trigger for his breakdown. I bet that fishfuck will just taunt Shingo even more once Kunitachi fails, worsening his breakdown.

i actually think fishmonster seems to have picked up on the kid wanting his father to fail. the explanation IS directed at the readers, but the way he's phrasing it makes it sound virtually impossible. maybe he also wants kunitachi to fail and for noguchi to die?

@nobaka I think it is more like he recognizes how vulnerable American doctors are to malpractice suits. They're cautious not because they're necessarily better, but because they have to manage risks

the fact that he's been practicing in america doesn't mean that he would be treated differently by the japanese medical and judicial system. remember, this series really seems to lionize the medical systems of countries outside japan.

Watching kunitachi, a doctor whose skills are borderline legendary, fail would be incredible schadenfreude to someone who's incompetent. especially someone like fishface.
