I bet Takeo will announce that he's gonna support Akira, which leaves Gunji with trying his damn hardest to lick Sofue's ass, which does absolutely nothing in the end (or maybe even backfire?) because from what we've known about Sofue so far, there's no way he will support Gunji. Same case with Kitou. Those two might say that they would support Gunji, but in the real voting tho, they won't vote for him in the end.

Oh man, you know what, calling it now.

As in, all of the professors will vote for Akira. Like, every single one. Yes, leaving Gunji with nothing. Nada. 0%. That would be a really satisfying conclusion to this election plot point for me. Gunji sucks dicks anyway.

Oh right, that would be the ultimate result for all of Akira's hard work from vol 1 too, which is nice. Like, surely that even after she's elected professor, she still needs the help of other professors, right? Her work after becoming professor would be much smoother if all of the professors respect her. That can also lead to a better Meishin, which might address the issue of inexperienced interns from some chapters ago.

@vangstampede yeah I still don't like Gunji after all this time. He seems to be content being a rat scurrying around in everyone else's shadow without any merit of his own, or even trying to stand up for himself. He tortured Miki because he likes her, envied Asada because he was always in his shadow, tried to leech off Takeo because Takeo was the professor and even his "for the ordinary people" gimmick got surpassed by Katou's innovations which actually benefit average surgeons more.
