Don't worry, you're doing a great job so far, keep it up!

Though, one piece of advice: if you know for a fact that this is only a fraction of a chapter, then I reccomend you that you put the chapter as 1.1 and the subsequent fragment as 1.2 (ans 1.3 if there come any more after this). That way we are warned that this is only a fraction of the whole chapter and the cliffhanger won't upset us that much, not to mention that you can later combine the fragments together once they're all done into a single whole chapter.
