artist also worked on eminence of shadow
they try to bring that same comedic energy atimes but i dunno man, it doesn't land for me.
the leveling system & scaling are grossly inconsistent and inflated, which is perfect when your cheat skills are dependent on this.
MC starts with only item creation and at level 50 he gains magic creation (translation says item creation "turned into magic creation" but whenever he needs an item for convenience he whips it out)
-both abilities require him to sacrifice levels to gain something (whether its an item or to permanently unlock a spell), oddly by chapter 12 he's over 200 with no new random broken skills gained apart from the cheats granted by magic creation.
-btw every spell he learns through magic creation can 1 shot at least 4 mobs in level range sacrificed (+30) simultaneously.
//example, you sacrifice 30 levels to learn BIG THUMP and drop to level 1. If you cast that same BIG THUMP as a level 1, you can instakill 4 mobs that are at least level 60 guaranteed (mana costs aren't relevant for awhile and when it is its instantly resolved with 1 accessory from item creation and made irrelevant again).
//again AT LEAST, as in at the bare minimum... skills that cost 200 levels could nearly one shot a level 1000 hidden boss
//keep in mind in one instance when he was around level 70-85, he was only gaining 1-2 levels per mob 50 levels above him while in a party with the FMC. However, soloing 8 mobs in that same level range can power level him from 1 to 118~, so apart from the first chapter level loss means nothing.
at village A (around chapter 3) he expo dumps that a hit at level 40 by a level 120 mob would result in an instant death
at village B (around chapter 11) he tanks at least 1 hit as a level 200 from a level 1000... he hasn't changed armor once, he only has a new ring that grants mana and a sword that grants atk, even his disgusting body strengthening skill only amplifies total atk.
-his ally does this as well, but if you wanna reach real hard you can argue that she has a special innate skill is overcompensating.
hard to find this worth it unless you really find this funny
