tbf it's only alleged, no real proof it happened. and while horrible I don't think it's beyond being joked about. this is just fiction and Silica is clearly a joke character, her cluelessly suffering is the entire point

Sure, but what you describe is too absurd to ever happen in reality whereas scaphism was a thing and people were murdered that way. And while there are regularly skits where someone gets shot or stabbed as a punchline, I think the brutality of this particular method makes it a bit tasteless to joke about.
