... who? these bozos didn't face any combat, all the figthing was done by Polidoro, who took down the rear of the bandits, rescued the hostages boys, destroyed the carriage, and killed the enemy commander, by himself

So as far as corpses go, they are all from Carolina's forces and her bandits who joined her

Also did they put Caroline's head off-screen? what's with that bag, why is this boob manga so unnecessarily cryptic, it is a damn boob manga!

It also doesn't helps that we get 2 chapters a year, and each chapter is divided into .5 parts, did they expect us to go and re-read this bullshit each time a chapter releases!?

Sabine and her group did actually take part in fighting (it wasn't shown off well in the Manga). We might also have a weird swerve from the WN, unless next chapter actually catches up. But Faust managed to head off the escape and had the most dangerous role individually, while the militia and the guard fought off the bandits and the delaying force of retainers.

While this might seem like a Boob Manga, it falls more into medieval alt-history/fantasy with a heavy dose of gender reversal.

Honestly, this chapter has had a couple of weird departures from the WN in context. Both of minor importance, but only one that is kind of an irreversible change. The biggest being Hannah was supposed to sacrifice herself to protect Valiere. The only loss among the guard and the most important loss for the growth of the second princess. Of course the final page makes it seem like that event did happen, but the character designed as Hannah, the Vice-Captain, is seen alive in a prior page. The other bit is mostly about what Caroline/Faust said and her final words. It directly influences Faust's subsequent actions at court and a certain few of his actions after.

Is not that it wasn't shown well, it wasn't shown at all, i went and checked the previous chapters just to see who that random corpse was, but all the fighting was done by Polidoro

What were her final words, in her she had an internal monologue about her daughter and then spoke Martina out loud then died

So who is that corpse at the end?

The back in bloody on the bottom. So they likely cut the head off her corpse of MC-kun to take with him.

I think they'll probably still include the sacrifice (given the title).

All that matters is that Hannah takes a bolt for Valiere from an enemy that managed to get through the line to kill Valiere before she gets killed herself. It's supposed to reinforce the advice she received from her sister, Anastasia, about being prepared for anything on a battlefield, even the enemy showing up behind your lines (as happened to her).

As for the departure with Caroline, they can always do a flashback later on with Faust's dialogue. What's important is what Caroline says and it matches up with the WN.

For anyone confused about the battle Valiere and her group went through:
If I remember correctly, Faust essentially broke through the enemy lines to catch up to Caroline. Leaving Valiere's group to fight Caroline's knights and the bandits.

The fighting is sort of shown in setup and ending, not in execution really.

The last words were similar, but Faust basically asks for any final words, any regrets. Caroline directly says Martina then. Faust then directly regrets asking for the last words, assumes Martina is probably dead, and 'carves the last words into his heart'. Not a major difference, and most of it could be moved around, but significant for the understanding in the moment.

The corpse shown on the battlefield is probably one of the militia. We can see on page 12, middle left panel, the second girl from the left is Hannah.

And yes, Faust did bag Caroline's severed head in that confusing panel earlier.

For sake of anyone wanting to follow along, we are at chapter 15's end/16's start. Just. . . missing a great deal of depth in chapter 16. We are just around 3/4 of the way through Volume 1.

Not gonna lie, I'd think after confirming their survival, they'd rush to reconvene with Polidro to make sure he's not dead or grievously injured, and that he succeeded in killing the enemy commander, then hold a victory cheer. I'm at least assuming they know he's near enemy border.
If they were competent. The truth is they are not, only leftovers.
