Imagine going to buy underwear with your bros and saying stuff like, "These boxers are SO cute!"
Its weird because bras at least serve a physical purpose on top of looking nice. Men's underwear is just meant to, you know, hide stuff. Unless... guys worry about their balls in this universe like women worry about their breasts here.
Although you CAN get fancy men's underwear, for the most part, guys really don't care what they're wearing as long as it's comfortable.

But hey, the women's underwear might be lame here but at least they're WAY cheaper.

Final note: I forgot Ichikawa was STACKED.

The fact is that in real life men's cloth shops have as good services as women's cloth ones. This world was just sex-discriminating.

I can't imagine Japan's department store male selection being that bad. I get they want to contrast but their going a bit over board here. If you're a guy who wants properly fitting clothing, there are store assistants. And I don't see bras being A-C and fitting well. For male underwear you just need to know your aprox waistline and the elastic band will give you 3-4 inches of play no problem.

@RandomFanguy If there were only like 2-3 basic styles and materiel choices that haven't changed in the past 10 years, I could see the cost of female underwear dropping down to those cheep prices.

In what kind of shit store did the author buy his underwear? Every store I know has a properly placed selection and a staff that cares, though I do admit I tend to buy my clothes in fancy places instead of the "this shit fell off a truck and we put it in some box" store this manga shows.

It also doesn't make sense that bras are treated like that because their shape and size is actually important while men underwear is less restrictive in that regard. It's not about gender-focused morality, it's about health and girls not mutilating their boobs with the wrong bra.

I understand what the author was going for but I feel like he took it a little too far this time. Though I did laugh at the "let's go buy underwear" bit.

As a man this is exactly how I buy my underwear. Never worn matching underwear in my life. Blue boxer-briefs, possibly Hanes, possibly Fruit of the Loom, and a green or red tank, maybe Costco, maybe Hanes, whatever happened to be on sale at the time, usually with the buy 6 get 1 free! promotion.

Can confirm, don't give a shit what underwear I buy as long as it's not garbage tier material.

If this was true, wouldn't the men be health and fashion conscious just like women are in our reality? All the men we've seen still wear the same crap, so why is underwear special?

Is it just me or has Ichikawa’s design changed significantly from the original style?

You know, I don't think there would be many women working in a mostly men's underwear store. You don't see male employees at Victoria's Secret.

The artist has definitely switched to a more pointy-looking style now. Or maybe I should call it sharper.

I'm thinking they treat breasts like how balls are treated. Imagine the situation:

Breasts: Why do we care if they are saggy or wrinkly, as long as they are covered up and not unsupported, it's fine.

Balls: Here is the latest fashion of Push-Up briefs guaranteed to make your balls look huge and your shlong gigantic. It has proper support for the balls to ensure that they remain perky and firm. It comes in 6 different designs, in 10 different colours! While stock lasts.
