I'll be perfectly honest, I don't get the concept of organizing, or even keeping porn. I pretty much always had the internet on hand, even in the 90s, to go searching for shit, and never really kept anything. I do vaguely recall printing stuff out, though.

This series continuing to make me feel weird as a guy, since I'm not nearly as perverted as the MC's friends. But for some reason, I feel like my ex might have done shit like this, with how horny she could be. Just further highlighting how this author doesn't seem to know jack shit about how varied the real world can actually be, and this supposed 'reverse world' normality is just how some people might actually be in the real world.

Hell, 'normality' itself is a lie. There's no such thing as normal. Everyone's different.

I have thought about how to organise porn efficiently, but this is definitely a smart solution to the problem.

I know this pain of confusing folders. Time to shill Hydrus which allows you to sort images by tagging, locally on your pc.
Of course, that requires doing, which I've been about to for several years now.

This is merely meant to make you consider things from a different perspective, for the sake of comedy. Don't take it so seriously. Lmao.

its the fact that internet was pretty damn slow to use the net for porn was very slow even for images, plus a lot of stuff got taken down and at times was very random.

There’s a saying once something is posted on the internet, it’s there forever, but frankly, that’s false and bullshit. Sites can go down, and content can be taken down anytime for various reasons. I don’t have the funds to buy a rack and build myself a proper storage server, but even then, I try to keep everything I like offline because of those reasons.

Now, don't get me wrong, I really do believe it’s next to impossible to truly delete data that has been posted on the internet, especially if it’s been viewed by many people. The problem is that it's saved by individual visitors, and they're less likely to repost it on the internet, let alone in a way that makes it as easily discoverable as it used to be.

The flaw in Kawashima's approach is organizing the porn (or any set of items that need categorizing for that matter) in a hierarchical manner, like in a folder tree on a computer, because it forces you to distinguish items that may belong to multiple categories at the same time. The solution to this problem is to instead associate a set of tags with each item, so a lovedoll sex video could have both the 2D, 3D and video categories all at once. Then you need a system that lets you query the database for any combination of tags. You could also associate a counter with each item indicating the number of times you've masturbated to it, and allow you to query on ranges of that number, so you can combine both types of information.

Granted, maybe most people won't be capable of implementing such a system, but at least in principle it's the best way to do it.

The fact that it's 'impossible to delete data from the internet' doesn't mean that data from the internet never disappears. It just means that it's very difficult to intentionally ensure that other people won't be able to access some particular data that you're interested in that's been posted. But that doesn't mean that all data that's been posted in the past will be possible to find. A lot of data can become inaccessible completely incidentally. Or, perhaps it does still exist somewhere, but that doesn't mean you'll be able to find it.
