I wonder because if we get to a point where we can actually transplant brains, and we can transplant a biologically male brain to a biologically female body, what would be the implications? I'm guessing they would identify as trans, or maybe some physiological changes might change causing them to start identifying as more of a female? I feel like at that point the psyche would become disconnected from the external body, and even biological sex would not be used to classify humans. cool stuff. also im pretty sure you wouldn't enjoy someone being attracted to your feminine aspects when you want to be seen as masculine

I think it would be a cool and less complicated or painful way for everybody who wants to have a girl's or boy's body to just "switch". Of course, it'd be only for those who're not that attached to what they felt and looked like in their original bodies. I imagine there's a lot of people like that too - not everybody who's trans want to change their body to suit their psyche and some would be fine with hopping between bodies.

I always felt that Maru didn't really care about Kiru's gender and rather enjoyed her as a person. He's probably just surprised by this plot twist as much as we are, as he's never considered his orientation and stuff. Understandable too, he's just 15.

I'm with Kiru about the plantation too. They were all nice, but I felt something sus about this whole operation.
