Now that's a family that will have inbreeding issues in the future. The "map" at the door of the cave in last chapter was actually the family tree, and it seems grandma just went to update it. They might end up with the Habsburg chin...

If that was the family tree, its a bit confusing especially by if the baby was a boy it would mess things up. Wonder what that means. Also this transvestite (if I'm using the words correctly), wonder how they ended up like that or was just born like that

The term is hermaphrodite. Transvestite is a term (considered offensive) that refers to cross dressers.

This is the way of stops in a road-trip post-apocalypse: it's just another flavor of fucked up waiting for you. I really don't know what to think of it since the Grandma gets nothing at this, concretely, but Hirukos are too much of an unknown to be left idle next to an entire family.

Though, I want to believe her, that the hiruko was there without problem for centuries, or else her family wouldn't have that tradition and history backing it up. So the facility may have found a way to reproduce a natural phenomenon.

I was thinking that was the child of the (I assumed at the time) wild-haired girl at that "school" in the flashbacks. I didn't expect them (I don't know if theres a pronoun for a hermaphridite) to be the actual person. I do question one thing though. Regardless of how adorable Mimihime is/was, her note says "Thank you for letting me die a human" but I wonder. Was she really human?
