Historically, He serve Nobunaga as his private attendant/page and after Nobunaga Honnoji Death, he serve Nobutada until their subsequent defeat against Akechi.
Akechi later consider Yasuke an "animal" and is not man enough to be honorably killed/beheaded. Thus he exile Yasuke.

I don't have any authority on this particular matter, but he looks pretty good to me? Aside from the dreads, there's nothing really stereotypically 'black' I can see on him. He seems like a baller as fuck design who just happens to be black
