The again, I would've also not said anything about returning her to her family, and instead asked her what she wanted to do. But I guess you can't really expect anything smart from a typical japanese MC.

lmao, a kaiji ref is something I never really expected to see in a random isekai.

@saifors it wasn't any specific reference, but if you think about kaiji thinking those lines in those panels ("typical villain face" / "having fun trampling on others") instead of the MC, they'd be referring to hyodou, so the artstyle change there is probably just to point out that the author/MC is drawing a parallel to hyodou in the description of the king's behavior (and the king also has a very hyodou-esque expression in those panels).
