Well, I guess the pope guy was planning to have Bie be the one killing her and getting hit with the backlash in order to accomplish the sacrifice, so I guess it won't happen yet.

He can't. It was uncertain whether time limit was only applicable to him specifically, or to others too, but recently we received our answer. Remember what Enel said about storing that hostile abyss replicator, or whatever it is called? She was wondering whether she considered alive or not. And it's apparently linked with Kai's perception, in the same way as he produced perfect white flour.

As long as Kai consider someone a "living thing", he can't keep him in the tenohira indefinitely.

P.S. Also, i'm not sure about divine blessing. Bie isn't a mage, after all - the lack of magic in the air won't inconvenience him.

I vote taking him to the middle of the sea, tied up, blindfolded, chained to a rock, and locked outside time for a year, then tossing him overboard and teleporting out. He'd be well at the bottom of the sea by the time he could actually start to die, and I doubt any backlash, if it even happens, would be in range of anybody who'd notice, let alone be in danger.

His family have likely been dead for centuries, though i wouldnt be surprised if his daughter is the witch the church is trying to kill

Just freezing him alone won't end the threat he poses, since it does wear off on its own, and I doubt they want to repeat what the church itself was doing just to keep their island safe, especially since there'll likely be others like him later on. Hence my idea. He's not likely to even survive the pressure of the depths long enough to recognize the danger he's in once the freeze does wear off, much less escape to safety (and even if he can make it out of that, there'd be the bends to contend with, which he'd be unlikely to even know about, much less guard against).
