That's why elves (and other long-lived species) in fantasy are typically designed to have low libido and/or fertility. If everyone had dozens of children, they'd be absolutely swarming the entire world, unless that high birthrate also came with high mortality, which doesn't seem to be the case here or the number of your children wouldn't exactly be a pleasant topic.

I mean it can also come with living so long can result in people well not noticing the passage of time too. Like I took a nap and oops 40 years has passed, oh well

Some light deforestation going on to build the roads and fields. Careful, it's the trap of civilization! It starts with a little deforestation, but it ends with your entire country turning into a desert save for the fertile regions near the rivers, and the rivers flood and destroy everything every so often.

Having land

Pros+
  • you manage an area and design it to fend off against bad people to protect the family
  • steady source of income
  • massive connections with people of power

Cons-

- You paint a target on your back
  • You have to manage the land 😭
  • You must socialize

i think i got everything.

Elves don't suffer from low fertility here, that or it is because his wife is human... that would explain too, it is common knowledge that elves do get fertile when it is with humans for the shagring of the more puritans of them XD.

You will need to commit Vrimus, i understand you have your hesitations and you didnt like how you brother did things, but now... the game is on, or you commit to it or you should get out already, but you know you have things to protect and errors to atone, so... get your head in the game.

I wonder if the old bandit chief twin girls will become little step-sisters to Ars or become villains down the line...
I hope it's the former.

Well the concept of "long-lived" race having low libido isn't really that fictional.

I mean, just check us Humans now.

Around 100-200 years ago, a couple easily used to have 4-8 children on average (not counting miscarriage or early deaths).
Nowadays, in majority of nation couples rarely have more than 2 kids, with 1 kid being the majority in general (and the trend is slowly leaning towards no kids as well).
Many would say it's because of economic and modern notion changes.
But other than that, there is also the point of increased lifespan as well.
100-200 years ago, the average lifespan of us Humans was around 50-60 (if we go more far back in the past, the average lifespan was much lower), but now it's 80-90 on average.

Aka., the longer and more developed people live, the lower is their desire to procreate.

Those Twin Girls still have their Uncle alive, so i doubt they would become Ars' Adopted Sisters.

And we still don't know what reason would Ars have to kill his Adoptive Father.

I'm pretty sure it's a boy and a girl. The one handing Kakyu the mud ball is the girl, and the timid one behind her is the boy. Look at the eyelashes below the eye, girls are usually drawn having it while boys don't.

Also, had to recheck last chapter and their names are mentioned in last chapter, it was Ima-chan and Macha-kun. So yeah, more proof they're boy and girl.

Average lifespan was much lower back then because so many babies died before five years old. It was not until vaccination became widespread, better nutrition due to rising living standard, and improvement in sanitation in cities that more babies could survive to adulthood and thus the average lifespan (and total number of population) improved drastically.
