Reading the summary up until 2022, I’ll have to conclude that some novel writers are batshit insane, and editors are a good thing. It’s like letting George Lucas go crazy with the prequels, instead of the (mostly) tight OG trilogy.

Anywho, thanks for the link,
Since people keep asking about spoilers, I will drop this link that was posted by someone a few chapters back. It has a longer write up on what happens.

the sister is blessed by the God of love because of her extreme love for her brother so whenever she dies she can possess any woman's body, meaning as long as there are women in the world she can't die.

Ouch, so... what does that mean for the actual Philene, is she just nixed from the world, or are they somehow sharing her body now?

Genuinely hope the author uses the fumble of this series as a learning point, because Imo while messed up this started off strong.
Yes, I've read a synopsis of the novel and know how Mumbo Jumbo convoluted things get but he really just needed to drop more hints or nods about the sister, the titular character and point of this manga, still being around in one form or another instead of spending like 20 chapters pretending to be a different story

The thing is the manga did tease the sister being around. In fact it was the beginning of me suspecting Philene as the sister. It was at the end of the captured children arc.

Although I do agree that the best medium for this series and actually most isekai is either anime or Light Novel. Manga just misses the mark because of how slow it is in most cases. let's be honest due to the content, this series was never getting an anime.

The worst part though this is like the digger meme we stopped just short of diamonds because what comes after this arc can only be described as akin to the Red Wedding.

By teasing I meant more obvious, on your face teasing like this last chapter where the sister shows up but it's a secret who she is.

There are hints at who the sister is and that's great, but a lot of readers forgot that the sister was actually still alive even. This was released so slowly that most people only vaguely remembered their fight and that the brother won so they felt like the sister died and that this is just continuing on randomly with the sister dead. Mama

Manga is a visual medium and the people who read it need visual reminders about characters. I think it's been 17 chapters of something since an actual appearance it mention of a character we knew was the sister came up? That's too long for a character literally mentioned in the title. In long form media that's fine, but even as a weekly release that would be over a quarter of a year.

Thanks for this, read the whole thread and it’s bizarre, kinda some cool twists but this cliffnotes version does make the story seem like it just turned into some fanfic full of time-travel, memory manipulation, body-swapping and rewriting reality.

I'm really into this manga with a very intense plot. Why did it take so long for a new chapter to be released? I can't wait so long for the next one. Also, what does "axe" mean? I'm new to reading manga.
If you want to know, think french revolution.

Also this is a fan translation site. Manga has two kind of translation, official and fan translate.

Official takes almost a year and more to never from the Japanese publishing. But often would have better translation. (DEI issues not withstanding sometimes)

Fan-translation is volunteer work by fans. Patreon is often a way for them to support the work they do. Most smaller FT groups have trouble keeping to a schedule.

In general manga has 3 types, weekly, monthly, and bundle(?). FT often uses the first 2 as source, unless they waited for the better quality of the bundle. (There are sites where you can read the official translate legal and illegally.)

So wait, that means that at some point she just replaces the girl, so the real girls existed before hand. So for instance the maid, was a normal unrelated girl to the sister till she took her body, and then the MC killed her... are the girls already dead when the sister takes over, or are they just being controlled and savable?

I don't remember all the details so I could be wrong but iirc
when she takes over a body the girls are still conscious but the sister is in control. But they might as well be dead because the only way to remove her is to kill whatever body she's in.
but at the end of the novel time gets turned back and someone seals the sister's body, so I think some of the girls were "saved" aside from the girl who got sealed with her.

The power systems in this series were well developed and interesting enough that I wish they almost didn't bother with the sister plotline initially lmao. Would have been fine with the series developing with like isekai Jojo stand like abilities, but what the series immediately lost upon the sister plotline finishing aroudn chapter 3 is the intensity of the art.

All of the sequences with the sister had so much energy and were so intense, but the series lost that instantly after they resolved the sister arc at the start, and it returned to regular isekai progression, so ultimately I can't say if what the series should have done, but it is still a shame it got the axe. I wish the author saved the skills for another series.

Also having read the next events that happen via the reddit link posted earlier, wtf lmao they chose some pretty milquetoast stuff to adapt when they have like ridiculous stuff happening later on. They should have ended it on the
Philena
reveal instead to make people more interested. Maybe that was the authors intention n it just didnt happen.

after reading the spoiler.. that is just a good call, though I will say the part you hope of with the elf, is correct. She very much is a winner.

I'll just copy paste the summary from the reddit, here, for those who want to read it:

u/TiredandAsleep:

I couldn't help my self and spent 3 days reading the light novels. I could not find spoilers for who the sister is so I had to find out myself. I'll summarized the story. This costed me a lot of time, but I want to save you all time and tell you.

!The sister summons a bunch of monsters and kills everyone (except for the main cast) at the school. To free themselves of the situtation, they have to kill the Evil King. Knowing that his sister was the cause, Jack breaks down and tells Philine the truth about him and his sister. After a heartfelt scene, Philine comforted Jack. Together, they walk into the core/barrier of the place. Philine stabs the corpse in the core - and gives off a smile. !<

!Turns out Jack's sister was Philine all along! Jack essentially has a mental breakdown - as the one he loved, his one true love - the one who he promised to marry - was his sister. The light novel described the sister as a devil with the face, shape, and voice of "Philine" but wasn't actually Philine. The sister says that "Philine" is her, but she is not "Philine". It's a little confusing. As it turns out, "Philine" killed Jacks parents right before they met for the first time (where Jack catches Philine) and used her spirit arts to turn them into corpses. Her spirit arts is necromancy - his parents that Jack has been dead for years, but the spirit arts turns them into robots that act according to their past memories. It's really really messed up. Jack still tries to call "Philine" and sister goes nuts and stabs him for calling her another woman's name.Jack strangles Philine to death and we get a timeskip of 7 years. Jack has become the Demon King - and it's up to his former classmates to stop him - they are the heroes of the story. I skipped a whole bunch of chapters and got to the confrontation. !<

!Jack's plan is to kill everyone with the 'purifying sun' which has a countdown. Long story short, his friends manage to defeat the demon king (Jack) - BUT - the 'purifying sun' goes off and kills everyone. Everyone's dead except for Demon King Jack. Well - everyone should be dead but he notices a blue flame. Proof of her existence. It appears that this was his plan all along - to make sure that his sister can no longer reincarnate after this.!<

!Jack calls out to her and the girl gets up. Which girl? Azelea. Azelea is his sister. She asked how did he figure it out. Anyways - in the end - this is a bad ending. Some time pass and Jack is chained up. His sister thanks him for creating a world where they are the only two people alive. She says she's gonna love him forever. It's implied that she's pregnant with his baby - and that she intends to live on through that baby. BUT - THERE'S AN UNEXPECTED SURVIVOR!!<

!The scene then shifts to the perspective of this person. This person tries her best to save Jack by trying to break his chains. The sister tells her it's impossible. (I think the chains are more figurative - like the chains of destiny and chains of cause of effect.) The girl who is trying to save Jack - is his master - the elf Raquel (I forgot her name). Raquel knows that it isn't Azelea, but doesn't know who - she just calls her 'Girl X'. As you all know, her spirit art lets her copy other spirit arts. And she reveals she has the ability of the 2nd spirit. The second spirit's power? It's time. She turns back time to free Jack from the chains. There are a lot of caveats and limitations to this power though.!<

!Now back in time, the first thing Raquel to find Azelea alone and take her out. She does this. Azelea is very confused that her teacher is attacking her. Raquel doesn't know who it is - but knows that girl x is a very good actor. Raquel uses an art to banish Azelea to the other side of the world.!<

!I skipped an entire volume and a half after this. Anyways - it's revealed that the teacher Raquel is also from the same world as Jack and his sister. The goddess reincarnated her as well, as she loved Jack too. The goddess did take away her memories though, at least until certain conditions were met.!<

!Skipped some more chapters. \[This is purely my own conjecture - but the sister's power is described as reincarnation, but as a reader, it felt more like possession. It was later revealed that Philine's final words were "I'm sorry." I think this was the real Philine who the sister was controlling. It didn't make sense for the sister to apologize as she was being strangled to death. There's also some scenes where the MC goes down memory lane - not sure if it was his own imagination but Philine appears in it and apologizes for killing his parents. Also, the sister was also Azelea before the first world ended, and Azelea was truly confused why Raquel was attacking her in the 2nd world. This makes me think that the sister only 'reincarnated' in Azelea or sealed her self until the very end. It definitely feels more like a possession than reincarnation.\] !<

!Skipped some more volumes and up to the latest chapter. I'm pretty sure I skipped many many fights and reveals as I felt like I was missing a lot of info when reading the last few chapters. It appears that sister tried to 'reincarnate' as Evelina. Evelina is the orphanage director, as her parents are dead. There's a big reveal that Evelina faked her own memories to trick the sister. Her parents aren't actually dead. She manages to seal the sister inside of her. The quote was "You won. You saved me from that demon. No one else—you did it yourself." I skipped too much to know the context though - but I don't think it's over yet. !<

u/Sakura_Ankoku:
All of your spoilers intrigued me enough to read it. I would highly recommend just using Translate on the web novel for anyone who was liking it, the plot twists never stop coming.

So some added details and corrections from the last three paragraphs, since some things were missed due to you skipping them (I thought this was the best part of the story too).

!So after banishing Azelea, Raquel ends up time looping Re:Zero style trying to get a perfect outcome, but the sister thwarts her at every turn using what is referred to as \[Reincarnation Time Leap\] which allows her to reincarnate as anyone in any time period (no males have been chosen but the characters consider it a possibility), she only retains memories from her last life though, while Raquel slowly accumulates knowledge. !<

!There's a loop where the sister is childhood friends with Jack, Phil wasn't part of the picture, but everyone survived, the evil god that destroyed the world in a previous loop was sealed long ago and the sister, a new girl named Sara this time, was a descendent of the ones who sealed it, giving her control of it (in this loop only). It was a world everyone could be happy, (yes Jack accepted the sister but didn't know it was her, she was just his childhood friend here) but Raquel couldn't accept because she realized she was jealous, that she wanted to be the one to marry him, which lead to her getting her memories back. It was the last world Raquel time leapt from and it was so different from the current world that "overwriting the save state" of the world that much destroyed her ability to do it any longer.!<

!Raquel was Kyoya's childhood friend, her real name was Asari. She started dating Kyoya when they graduated school, he and his sister mysteriously disappeared a few days later. She just thought she got ghosted after their parents died in a tragic accident and the siblings moved away. She wound up getting involved with a detective who contacted her 5 years later about the disappearances of people acquainted with the siblings. With the detectives help she was directly involved in helping Kyoya escape, at the cost of her own life as the sister caught her and stabbed her to death. Basically this is the event that leads to all 3 of them dying and reincarnating.!<

!Asari makes a deal with the same Goddess to reincarnate behind the other two, realizing she loved Kyoya this whole time, and wanting to save him from his sister. The Goddess says the sister's love was real even if misguided and that's why she was allowed to reincarnate and given power, and that Asari must prove her devotion is equal or greater. She's given the condition she must reincarnate at least 100 years before Jack, and that she will lose her previous life's memories. She's guaranteed to be able to meet him again some day and the test is if she'll fall in love with him all over again. Which of course she does which is how she regains these memories after fulfilling the condition.!<

!With her memories back she goes to confront Jack as the demon lord. Because Jack is still lost in distrust, when Raquel reveals she's Asari he just thinks it's the sister messing with him again. As Jack gets angry and starts saying he'll kill her, one of the only spirits whose power she doesn't have appears, Asmodeus the spirit of Love whose aspect is \[Fate\]. Also the sister's name is revealed as Sara at this time, the same as from that final world, Asmodeus is the spirit she is the Roost of (of course its the Love spirit). Her power is to make love come true. Turns out the goddess reincarnating Sara again and again was Asmodeus, using her power to help Sara achieve love by removing blood relation from the equation through reincarnation. She was actually already with Sara in Japan and her power is how Sara managed to evade police for so long. Raquel copies it using Shaxx, and thus uses her own love to defeat Asmodeus and reach Jack (with some help from Jack's subordinates she won over). Reincarnated people can't be reincarnated by Sara's power as well, protecting Raquel from Sara's reincarnation possession, making her "the one person he can trust". By kissing him, she uses the memory power the twins from the childhood arc use to share her memories with him of all of her time loops she went through, all for his sake, and the regaining of her Earth memories. This pulls him out of his despair and he resolves to go back to what child Jack wanted, to protect those he loved.!<

!They finally bang, and spend some time together in the memory world again going over events and realizing a lot of lore and plot. They conclude that Sara must have 2 forms, the one she's reincarnating as and another one feeding that one information. #1 Spirit Baal is an evil god. It was sealed by 4 heroes. The 3 nations are founded by 3 of them, 4th is a lost tribe Jack is descended from. Lost tribe has seance abilities, one of Jacks subordinates Samijina has seance ability, he's been using her to try and contact Phil's soul to no avail. Turns out Samijina is his long lost little sister of this world, Sara in the spirit world has been using her by pretending to be her friend as a spirit, to communicate to her physical world incarnations through the spirit world, that's how she is getting future info when she reincarnates, she isn't carrying it over, by securing Samijina they prevent Sara from being able to time leap with her deaths, stopping her from predicting their every move. Baal and Asmodeus show up under the control of Sara and kidnap Samijina right as they go talk to her.!<

!They go reunite with the childhood friends, and as they start to form a plan suddenly Jack is somewhere else with missing memories. Long story short its Evelina's doing and Jack defeats her. Evelina is the leader of one of the 3 nations, it has to do with that world building in the loops, but basically they need all of the nations to work together to stop the #1 spirit Baal from destroying the world. Baal is of course being controlled by Sara, it can't be hurt by spiritual arts, and is a giant spider whose webs nullify them. What Jack meant about "you won all by yourself" was that Evelina was one of the reincarnations of Sara but actually drove her out on her own and saved her own identity, she did this by sealing her memories with her own spirit's power. She thought she grew up in an orphanage but it was actually her own sealed memories of her home in order to protect her parents, so when Sara reincarnated in her Sara gained Evelina's false memories she had already given herself in order to protect her life. She joins Jack and uses her memory power to make Jack the hero who will defeat the evil god per an agreement between the 3 nations, as they only have one month before it destroys the world and don't have time for the politics of it.!<

And that's everything to the most recent chapter that was posted in 2022. The author posted this year about maybe redoing some of the earlier parts and things depend on LN sales, but the story is at 80% right now by word of the author.
