It's really no surprise why this got axed. After resolving its core conflict in the first 3 chapters, there was nothing really unique or interesting left for the story to show. I'm honestly surprised it even lasted this long.

At this point, I'm just glad it's over; having read the whole thing today (I read the first chap and had it on hold), I've gotta say: this story is some weird kind of conceptual torture, and I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of it.

I'm not entirely surprised this got axed--this is slop, pure and simple. There is some mild enjoyment to be had here, Especially when the first arc goes hard into edge lord territory. At least there's a WTF factor that I could enjoy. But then it gets a bit too clever for its own good, trying to pass off some incredibly generic Isekai world building and hoping the possibility of the sister returning would make it compelling.

Also not all that surprising what the reveal is, judging by those spoilers.

Well, I had more or less guessed that she was around.

It's really sad this got axed, but it sort of couldn't be helped. The LN had a lot of time to expand that story and then still do what's next in the same volume, while the manga just has to stay alive on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Skipping the entire arc would've eroded the goal, which was probably to make both the MC and the reader almost forget about the sister before reintroducing her cruelly. For a longer-living story, the author needs to introduce way more stuff beyond the sister so there is something else to see when the gimmick inevitably starts to get old. So LN readers would've been quite mad at the adaptation for skipping the arc, while manga readers were quite mad at the story for having the arc. There could be no winner.
I guess for everyone who enjoyed the story, go get the LN.
