Interesting premise, but I feel like it tuned in the info dumps WAY too heavy. At some point, every single match has an expert from the peanut gallery, comment about how amazing their moves are as the fighters perform them.
Cringe.
It's also not very interesting when their entire logic is literally bound by a 2D fighting game from the 90s.
In a 2D game you cannot side-step, for an instance, but in a 3D world, in reality? That's just stupid.
Even if I missed that the "goddess made it so that during a match, you cannot side-step" -- that's just boring. Every single special tactic the author is info dumping about, stems from certain features of the games having unexpected results, which ended up becoming a staple mechanic -- not because it's some divine plan preconceived by god.
I.E: I fully expected the story to go: "You think I'll just stand in place and guard, and not move aside? You think this is 100% a vidjeo game or something? You stupid? This is still reality, and the rules change as a result"
But, nope, none of that. The author is just copy-pasting w/e they can find from any and all street fighter blogs. <_<
That being said, the last few chapters seem to have gone in a slightly more interesting direction, but the major problems of the writing itself will still be present.
5/10.
