It's not magic and not physical. Or just ignores what it wants to ignore.

His MP being negative isn't exactly new at this point. It's basically infinite unless the plot requires it not to be.

Petrification in games is almost always reversible.

She just took his word for it even if she thought it was weird and hard to explain. Well, better safe than sorry, and he does pull some respect.

There's not much to explain, but just getting the word out takes time.

They'll be fine~
It's that kind of manga.

MC is too stuck on the magic he used, I have no doubt he have something like a hurricane magic that would work.
Oh yeah, he froze some BlueMoon bastards early on, this liquid curse seems to be affected by normal rules liquids have, so he could have frozen it on the spot.
Author wanted to create a dangerous situation when MC should have just cast "freeze", hate when it happens, forced plots suck.

Yeah this chapter just was too odd. The guy over here trying to experiment with magic as if this stuff is playdough. And just like the rest are saying it is getting lazy how it just work even when it does not. To the point of him not worrying on how much MP he ended up using to fight that artificial dragon.
Also we just don't even believe for a sec that the town will be harmed at all.

We are reminded again that the MC has always taken the most damage from his own MP overuse. Let’s see how far into the negative his MP will get to this time.

Thank you for the update! This one definitely does seem really out of place. Like things are just kinda doing whatever they want with no explanation. Why are things not working? Dunno, just cuz. Why did it have a second phase? Shrug. How is it spreading at such weird and varying speeds? Don't question it. Like this all feels really forced and there's no reason why MC isn't able to handle this other than author saying "I don't want it to work that way this time. No reason."

I feel like people constantly forget who Yuuji is. An emotionally broken black company employee. Of course he's not going to show any emotion as he works himself to death. And of course he wasn't worried about blowing his MP killing the dragon, he didn't expect round 2 against a liquid curse.

This is actually the most frantic his inner monologue has been.

after all the MP he uses , you'd think there'd be more negative effects than him just briefly passing out or feeling dizzy, or using the mana potions (if that ever came into play again)

love how Slibird is still 'chonky' lol

I didn't complain about him not panicking, after all he never was expressive to begin with. So sorry if it came off that way.

You know that kinda goes back to my point of him playing with it instead of just taking it seriously. He has alot of powerful spells and like you said he has no regard towards overworking himself. So shouldn't he be using the most powerful spells immediately once his barriers were useless?

And secondly, even now with this level of threat we are given a sense of assurance and safety that things will itself work out. Even though this chapter was supposed to show that nothing works against the ooze.
