They're also tied with several loops around the legs, and are attached only to a strong tree branch without any kind of pulling mechanism. It's so bad they didn't even get a single part of them right. That's impressive.
That seems like if it would follow the fallacy of sunk costs, but doesn't. The plan hasn't failed; it just cost more than they hoped, and now they're ready to execute the real part of it.
