On some manga, one small arrow kills a character, this manga:

And he can still fool around after.

I think the last thing Tomas needs to be worried about is his loyalty to Basamak. I know reading manga sometimes requires a suspension of disbelief, but as someone who hunts with archery, this is just too ridiculous. Tomas would probably not even be alive, let alone be able to walk around and talk. Arrows don't just stick in an object when they get shot. Unless they hit a bone, there's a good chance it may fully penetrate the body. And if it did strike a bone, it's likely the bone would be broken or shattered. Even just a "flesh wound" arrow into the shoulder would cause an immense amount of bleeding. Tomas had at least 6 arrows sticking out of him, including in several vital spots. It's possible he'd still be alive at that point, but he would be in extraordinary pain, and likely bleeding out at that point.

the ending might be anti-climatic but at the same time, it's been going according to what I got the vibe that Ars doesn't want any causalities if he can help it. We see him writing letters to the families of the soldiers who died in battle, so if he can avoid the siblings having a bad end, then he'll do it.
also I just clocked on the new cover and new character now 👀

Thanks for the translation and hard work put into this chapter! Much appreciated!!

I'll give the benefit of the doubt that the bald man, being the main commander, has better equipment, and that most of the arrows missed his vitals and pierced his armor.

But, yeah, I can see a plot armor there.
Unfortunately, most isn't all of them. The arrow that hit between his ribs on his right side, would have almost certainly punctured his lung and would have been just as likely to be fatal.

Oh, so enemies in a war are on bad terms? How insightful.

This was a bit too peaceful and idealistic, even for this manga.

I thought the ass pull was going to be freezing instead of fire.
Nah, it's not an asspull. They explained their plan before it happened, so naturally it's going to fail. Can't have things go along the plan.

Tomas would probably not even be alive, let alone be able to walk around and talk.
As long as all limbs are attached and there's no sword poking through his torso, nor anything through his head, he's fine. Just need to walk it off.
