The part about Reine was the same in the WN.I feel like this is just a means to an end, giving a convenient ending for the brocon sis. Especially since someone said the WN dealt with it worse.
It did feel out of the blue. The brocon sis, well, apparently had mutual interest with someone who isn’t the brother.
In the WN it was emphasized that it was the teleport magic that convinced everyone. Of course there was the mention of all the ties the Silford family would form with the royal family, just like in the manga, but the emphasis was put on the legendary teleport magic being the convincing part. It's like the king was saying to Cain when the king first found out Cain can teleport, which was a pretty long time ago in the manga iirc, but the emphasis in this part in the WN was yet again put on the implied meaning of a person being able to teleport using magic. Although that might be clarified in the next chapter, maybe it just didn't get to that part in this manga chapter, I'm not entirely sure.It does make perfect sense from a CK3-poisoned brain. Someone as powerful and increasingly influential as Cain? TIE HIS ALLIEGANCE DOWN WITH AS MANY MARRIAGES AS POSSIBLE.
Because from a political standpoint, the Silford clan is officially A Problem -- the nobles are right to protest that the King is concentrating enough military force in one family to raise a viable revolution. Because in a feudal society, as soon as you don't have control of the majority of the troops, you're not in charge any more. Even if they don't revolt right now, no future ruler can do anything that pisses the Silfords off. They've got a permanent veto on what should be an absolute monarch. And the way you handle that is, you make them family. If there's Silford blood on the throne, you don't need to worry about pissing the Silfords off.
Also, about the name thing with Esfort Drintor which you mentioned in your earlier post, I don't remember if there was a reason given, but I recognize it slightly from the WN, although that might be my memory acting up.
