it was a kill of efficiency.

MC still has to contend with that colossal plant skull monster, Rock is currently fleeing out of detection range, and the other Courier Girl is bleeding out/on death's door.

Dude had literal seconds to kill one guy, save four women, defend against a gigantic monster, and had to cover what was probably hundreds of feet worth of distance to do it all. He had zero time to think about whether he was "letting him off" or not.

If anything, 'Fatty' was shown the consideration due someone of his station:
