The addition of that Girl is actually quite interesting since via her thoughts we actually get a lot of World Building. Especially on how it would "normally" go with Carriers. So far we only had Sei's words and other peoples reactions but here we get to actually see it.

It's ongoing, there was a book recently released. The manga starts the adaptation at Book 5.
