Good Day, I am here to make a schizo-post, grab your tin-foil hats. I have manifested here to make the case that:

Theory: The manga was planned to be a remaster but gradually became a remake of the original novel's story. The author not only approves of this but is actually coordinating with the mangaka for it's writing effectively making the mangaka a co-author.

--------------------------------

THEORISING START

--------------------------------

Context:

- First, the managaka (Hayashi) and author (Koumi Tarou) are separate people.

- Second, the mangaka is well-known for his R-18 doujins (I'm a long time fan). iirc, he does NOT write novels or anything with just text.

- Third, the author primarily uses syosetu. In syosetu, 'A Reincarnated Carrier’s Strategy for Another World' main story hasn't been updated since 2025/02/13 and usually the author takes 6-9 months breaks between volumes. It has been more than a year. (it is not finished)

- Fourth, the author is VERY prolific in writing. Posting nearly a chapter a day and starting a new series when the other is on break. However, his WN posts slowed down dramatically since the Carrier novel 'hiatus' (technically there is no official hiatus announcement).

----------------

Introduction:

To begin this section I would like to emphasis some notable manga original additions.

- Starts at WN volume 5 (effectively changing the tone from 'weak to strong' to 'strong to stronger')

- The entire Rook confrontation arc.

- hotspring scene

- Evil goddess plotline

- New/Overhauled characters (Lilie/Anita)

- Remastered characters (Especially Zofie the assassin girl)

- Added Erotic Scenes

- MC progressively deviating in personality from the WN conterpart.

- MC's carrier class capabilities got reworked (ever since the examination)

... This reads like a major patch for a game doesn't it?

I am trying to make a point that the manga is no longer just expanding the existing source material but it is completely overhauling it. It's getting to the point that joining the manga back to the novel risk seriously butchering the current story beats. But why the hell would the author allow this to happen?

As seen in page 8 of chapter 12.5 (Short Story: Zophie). The author has authorized (get it?) the mangaka to make changes to the story. So there's already a precedent that the author is keenly aware of what the mangaka is doing to the story.

Afterall, this novel is the author's current 'magnum opus'. The longest novel he ever wrote and the most popular. If he disagreed with the mangaka's direction, why allow the mangaka to add an original character (Lilie) and add extreme content (guro) along with her that isn't present anywhere else in the WN. The author would have nuked the mangaka by now.

WAIT! Did you realize something about these short story chapters? It's mostly just text. A long detailed text filled with lore of the setting... mangaka (hayashi) is an artist, NOT a writer plus why write for a work that isn't originally his??? So who likely made it? That's right, THE AUTHOR!

So, I would like to prematurely propose a theory that:

"The author initially only allowed the mangaka to make small changes but overtime.... The author approves and helps the mangaka implement significant story changes eventually... The author fully commits to rewriting the story for the manga to use.".

That would explain the author's declining activity in his website and why the manga's story is exponentially deviating from the source material.

----------------

Motives:

I'll give some probable reasons to why author-sama would do this:

- Little is lost. The WN still exists. So if the manga gets axed, the author can be just continue the WN like nothing happened.

- Medium incompatibility. I'll try to keep this spoiler-free. With the current pacing, tone, and character development in the manga. Implementing the novel's story structure especially the events that befall the heroine trio THAT WE SPENT 2 YEARS AND COUNTING getting attached to. It will be a DISASTER (Axe guaranteed eventually). So the mangaka probably convinced the author to change it.

- Double the Content. If the new manga readers dislike the absurdist erotica manga story, they get pointed to the novel. If the new novel readers dislike the mature and serious novel story, they get pointed to the manga. Recycling the same world to make 2 entirely different stories. Very efficient.

- Author-sama simply got bored/unsatisfied with the novel's story so switched over to the manga story. It is an objective truth that in terms of characters, the manga has much more developed, unique, and fun characters than the original.

- Money.

I could elaborate more to reinforce my delusions on the plot direction. However, my post-nut clarity I gained after reading this chapter has finally ran out (sasuga Hayashi-sama).

--------------------------------

THEORISING END

--------------------------------

Character Changes (spoilers may or may not matter to the manga canon)

Just wanting to share (I've ONLY read Volume 5)

Luna (manga) is just a very horny version of Luna (WN), changed the least out of the trio. Idk what else to say.

Scarlett (manga) is much more expressive and open to banter making her appear friendlier compared to the WN version. Reading the JP reviews for the manga volumes, she is well liked. Her fate in the following chapter/s will greatly determine the manga's story going forward. Will it follow the WN? Or chart its own path in manga? Time will tell.

At the start of WN chapter 105, in the passing of 2 paragraphs and 3 sentences, she meets and reunites with her childhood friend's party, The next sentence in the novel and the very FIRST THING SHE SPOKE to the MC's party:

「I’m sorry, guys. I happened to run into my childhood friends again, you see. So I’m going to leave the party and join them.」

The party just accepts it and bids happy farewells with each member of the MC party saying a single sentence. No reluctance, no confusion, and no surprise. Just an ‘O-well’ from the party. 2.5 years of waiting for this conclusion (you will never see her again). If you're a fan of Scarlett, you only get pissed on, no sex, just piss. Are you starting to understand why it's unwise for the manga to follow the WN exactly?

But this chapter has given me hope! The reaction of the party is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Why would the chapter reserve the last 2 pages to Scarlett leaving the party as a plot twist? Why did Scarlett look sad/conflicted? Why change the reactions of the MC’s party to look regretful? Why is it a cliffhanger instead of starting and concluding at the beginning of the next chapter like the novel? This is going to get expanded upon. I am excited. Scarlett may stay.

MC IS GOING TO CUCK THE CHILDHOOD FRIEND. GOD BLESS NETORI!

Zofie/Zoffy/Zophie/THE HONORED ONE (manga) where do I even begin with you? Out of the trio, you have been given the most love by the mangaka and changed THE MOST. From a mere prostitute (WN) to now the MC's right-hand woman. She is the honored one.

I am just going to list the changelog of best girl:

- Gets「 Bedchamber Technique」. YES, she does NOT have this in the WN. Making her be able to fully compete with MC in bed.

- In the WN sex scenes, MC would constantly ask "Am I better than the chairman". Zofie would reply "about the same". This NTR roleplay is mostly absent in manga.

- much more passionate in sex with MC

- Her personality is WAY cuter and funnier (double meaning intended)

- In this chapter, she is an accomplice/deputy/lieutenant/confidante/PARTNER to the MC assisting him in destroying other women in bed (lol). This is a unique position for a heroine to be in.

She's very much positioned to be the main girl or at least part of the endgame harem.

Ya want to know how her WN counterpart leaves the party?

... She leaves for the chairman ...

.

.

.

... God be my witness.

As a long time gooner fan of the mangaka, it’s bloody hilarious how his erotic works affected the character designs and personality. Anita and Lilie are almost ripped 1-to-1 from Hayashi’s doujin while the others including MC are an amalgamation of different characters. Makes re-reading his doujins be utterly hilarious.

----------------

Off Topic:

About the goddess

The goddess maliciously interfering with the MC could be part of a metanarrative. That the story of the WN is actively getting rewritten by the evil goddess. It would be entertaining wouldn't it?

Though I am a bit skeptical of her current implementation. I, for one, enjoy the trope of an initially friendly god/goddess secretly plotting for the MC’s downfall if executed well like in Mushoku Tensei . However, the problem with this story’s use of the trope is that she lacks any build up. In the manga, we get a single flashback page of her ‘force choking’ (?) the MC into the Carrier class before her introduction in chapter 24 of actively being the MC’s biggest hater thereon. It is rather confusing and brings up the question, has she meddled in the (manga’s canon) events of volume 1-4? Why is she being such a brat?

Simply dedicating a chapter or a small arc to explain the goddess’s vitriol can alleviate much of the issue. This plotline is still very salvageable so let ‘em cook.

Actually, there is one chapter released in JAN 2026. You can search by author's name and you will find another novel with familiar name. Sadly, it is 15 years after the main story (the End game?). In this chapter, lots of familiar female name have been mention which I can't remember all of them.

Still it's fun to read and I hope the author resume the main story in the future.

PS. I read all your analysis/comments/rants/complaints. I know how you feel.
