Perhaps that's the point. That the virus is designed to give each person the gender they truly desire. If Hinata really wanted to be a boy again, he would. But the doctor probably thinks he's in denial, hence the "You should accept it".

True, but it might not be labeled as such since it is not a direct cause of death or physical disability (like paralysis, necrosis, bone damage, etc...). It just changes gender. And since one's gender will never be labeled as a disability / mental illness, you get this grey area. Especially because only one of the many effected people in this story are not fully ok with it (but its getting there, maybe like 45% ok with it, and anything above 50% is more ok than not ok).

At most this causes varying amounts of temporary distress and a few issues with legal identifications and such (depending on culture, effects may be more severe or more accepted too). I believe currently it would be labeled as such, but may not be kept as such in the long run.

@Misticsan President is being abusive from the start, and this is really bothersome. I like that Pres had developments, but they didn't change the behavior, so, Hina with Yurina is the best couple here, at least their relationship isn't problematic

This is giving a lot of evidence to the theory that the virus only works on people that are already transgender. In the doctor's eyes, their pandemic would result in "good" being done to the world if it only applies to them.
