I swear I've read one or two manga that has compass being invented. That being said, usually if the world building has navy system albeit a medieval/victorian, they would assume compass existed in that time period.I just realized but in all my years of reading manga, manhwa, manhua, and the misc., I have never really seen a compass be introduced, used, or implemented even in technology/development oriented stories, just, wow.
Well she doesn't need heat to liquefy metals, as she is using alchemy. She even said it was at room temperature.Shaping with paper....? Is she forming molten metal into ingots with PAPER!?
And extruding with paper funnels. I mean if they're room temperature that helps a lot, but....that's some damn strong paper. It'd be like wearing a paper sock.
yes. I was not wondering if they were room temperature, I was acknowledging the difference that detail makes. The answer to which is "there's a lot of other issues holy hell"Well she doesn't need heat to liquefy metals, as she is using alchemy. She even said it was at room temperature.
It doesn't really make a difference, because magic. i know that's a stupid answer, but that’s just how it works no.yes. I was not wondering if they were room temperature, I was acknowledging the difference that detail makes. The answer to which is "there's a lot of other issues holy hell"
It is incredibly old invention after all, if people already manage to make paper. They should already have compass tooI just realized but in all my years of reading manga, manhwa, manhua, and the misc., I have never really seen a compass be introduced, used, or implemented even in technology/development oriented stories, just, wow.
“The soap sold on the market is probably made from animal fat and lye. This one solidifies more easily and smells better”How can she patent soap when soap is already a known product? […] Or maybe the manga just chose to skip it for reasons unknown and what she's patenting is a process to make a much purer soap of consistent quality.
“The soap sold on the market is probably made from animal fat and lye. This one solidifies more easily and smells better”
Mangaka of these kind of mangas never understand product feasibility and economy behind them.Soap was made of whatever fat was available. Back in the day, up north animal fat was pretty much the only fat on hand in significant quantities, so it was used. Down south, plant oil was also readily available. Even rapeseed began more of a southern thing, before gradually moving north, but it was a slow thing. It wasn't even considered fit for human consumption until rather recently. So, farmers cultivating it for soap everywhere would be a stretch.
So, if that kingdom has plant oil, it would use plant oil for soap, unless that was financially unwise. Of course it's possible the very southern parts of the kingdom has better soap from plant oils and the northern parts use animal fat for smellier soap. If the whole kingdom would need to import plant oil to make soap, it would result in an expensive soap meant only for the wealthy. It would be better to use alchemy to make cleaner soap from animal fat, in that case.
