This manga feels like the author reading Jared Diamond books and thinking how he can explain concepts by showing us what happens when everything breaks down, using alchemy as a magic wand to poof off bad endings and keeping the series light-hearted.

I feel like she is screwing up the industrial revolution. She could have done it in a sustainable way, but no, she destroys independent farmers, creates drugs that ruin sleep schedules, creates cash crop agriculture and introduces every single late stage capitalist idea.

Is she trying to create a ultra capitalist dystopia?
