Seems like king decision to send the prince are the right one. This is a harsh reminder that positions can blind one of another perspective.
Right now, it should be noted that he's also acting out of fear... his life was nearly taken so he's freaking out...
and most likely, the problem was he ask for a quack doctor. it's not rare with those settings
i'm not telling the villager is not at fault, he's just desperate. still need to get punished, not a life threatening or jail time punishment either though. how it's done? idk, i'm not a judge.
it's different if he really did hurt or even kill him
Or it was the right medicine and she still died... it's not like cures have a 100% chance after all...
Yes the prince is an idiot. Though as a lord Lyle better not letting of the villager turned brigand scot-free even after Lyle helped him.
But what do I know, so far everyone in this story gets away with slap on the wrist at max and everyone is smiling and happy. /shrugs
Yes, they don't get killed... but there seems to be some good basis and it's not scott free...
That elf that killed his family has good and needs a chance to repent. And it's not like she's useless. She's actually adding quite a bit of power to help the village. And it should be noted that the attack would have happened with or without her.
And he knows she is trust worthy...
And this man, he really was just desperate and needing to survive... giving him the help he needs seems like a better way.
A good lord should have both justice AND mercy...
In this case, mercy might be better... he never seemed to have harmed anyone yet and only made an attempt.
Plus, the prince needs to learn how to understand others and show mercy....
So sparing this dude can do both things...
Im actually hoping the prince goes through a development arc.
That is literally the point of this arc... that's all that's happening...
